On April 22, Guangdong Transportation Group announced that after 25 hours of continuous operation, at 15:50 on the 21st, the deepest pipe section of the immersed tube tunnel in the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage—the ninth pipe section (E9), was in Shenzhen. The precise docking was completed at 37 meters underwater. So far, the immersed tube tunnel of the project has been completed at 1,443.5 meters.

The E9 pipe section installed this time is a standard pipe section, and the sinking position is the lowest point of the tunnel site, and the maximum dredging depth is nearly 37 meters.

Under the conditions of large digging depth and strong back siltation, the construction team of the deep and medium channel used the "Three Musketeers" for dredging-Wanfang trailing suction dredger "Junhai 5", and the first domestic dedicated dredging vessel "Jie The “Dragon” ship and the self-developed submarine leveling vessel “Yihang Jinping 2” carry out high-precision dredging operations on the sinking area of the immersed pipe to create a flat and clean seabed for the E9 pipe joint.

At present, the construction of the Shenzhen-China Corridor is progressing steadily.

In terms of bridge engineering, the pile foundations and caps of the main bridge have been completed, the main tower of Lingdingyang Bridge has been constructed to an elevation of 210 meters, and the main tower of Zhongshan Bridge has been constructed to an elevation of 150 meters.

In terms of the island tunnel project, the construction of the east and west artificial islands has been carried out in an orderly manner. The immersed tube tunnel has completed the sinking and docking of a total of 9 pipe sections, and the sinking and installation of the E10 pipe section is in preparation.

It is understood that the installation of the E10 pipe section will face both the dredging problem brought by the "dragon boat water" and the challenge of deep trough sinking in deep water.
