“I apologize for the injuries of random people at the protests who fell under the distribution,” said Karaev.

Protests in Belarus have continued for a week after the presidential elections on 9 August.

Earlier, Karayev stated that street actions in Minsk were aimed at “rocking the situation”.

On August 12, against the backdrop of protests, Karayev said that he had instructed the security forces "not to touch the journalists," except for cases where they stand "between violators and the forces of law and order."
