China News Service, Xi’an, August 23 (Reporter Alina) The reporter learned from the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Water Resources on the 23rd that from 8 am on the 22nd to 8 am on the 23rd, the province’s southern Guanzhong and most parts of southern Shaanxi fell in general to heavy rain, Hanzhong Heavy rains in the southeast and west of Ankang, local heavy rains.

There were 47 flood peaks in 40 stations on 32 rivers in the province.

Hanjiang Yangxian Station formed the first flood of 2021 at 17:00 on August 22.

  From 8 o'clock on August 22 to 8 o'clock on the 23rd, moderate to heavy rain fell in most parts of southern Guanzhong and southern Shaanxi in Shaanxi Province, and heavy rains occurred in the southern part of the Han Dynasty and western Ankang, and local heavy rains.

There are a total of 99 counties (districts) in the province with rainfall, of which 6 are 50 mm to 100 mm and 3 are above 100 mm.

At 17:30 on August 22nd, the Yuehe Changqiangpu station had an over-guaranteed flood of 3,210 cubic meters per second (guaranteed 2950), which was the largest flood since the station was established in 1959; at 13:20 on August 22, the Chihe Machi station had an over-guaranteed flood. The alert peak flow is 1,720 cubic meters per second (alert 500), which is the largest flood since the station was established in 1967; the Han River Yangxian Station formed the first flood in 2021 at 17:00 on August 22.

  On August 22, the Shaanxi Provincial Office of Prevention and Control held a flood prevention conference and chamber of commerce in the Provincial Water Resources Department to comprehensively form opinions on the prevention of heavy rains and floods in the mainstream of the Hanjiang River.

The Shaanxi Provincial Water Resources Department issued 68 flood forecasts and early warning signals in a timely manner, and an additional expert team was sent to coordinate with the three cities in southern Shaanxi to do reservoir dispatch and dike inspections.

A notice was issued again to arrange flood prevention work on the mainstream of the Han River, and special supervision and implementation of flood safety measures for water projects under construction.

Scientifically dispatched Ankang and Shiquan Reservoirs to block floods and staggered peaks to avoid issuing evacuation orders at night in Ankang and Xunyang urban areas.

  At present, the flood is evolving from Ankang to Baihe. Except for the Yuehe Changqiangpu Station, the other main and tributary streams of the Hanjiang River are falling below the warning level.

Major flood control facilities are dispatched in an orderly manner and run smoothly.
