The first of its kind in the world.. Russia registers a vaccine for "Corona" in the form of a nasal spray

The Russian Ministry of Health has registered the world's first anti-coronavirus vaccine in the form of a nasal spray.

The ministry's statement confirmed that it had registered "a copy of the Gamma-Covid-Vac vaccine (Sputnik V), which was developed by the Gamalia Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry of Health, in the form of a nasal spray."

According to the Russian "TASS" news agency.

The vaccine consists of two components based on type 16 and type 5 of adenovirus vectors, and the ministry statement indicated that this type of vaccination leads to a humoral immune response (which is immunity that includes increased levels of IgA antibodies in the blood and nasal secretions, thus protecting the body primarily from risk of entry of germs, viruses, and parasites), as well as a cellular immune response to infection caused by “Corona”

The two doses of the vaccine are meant to be given three weeks apart and are currently available to immunize individuals over 18 years of age.
