On December 3, the first nuclear power heating project in southern China, the "Zhejiang Haiyan Nuclear Power Heating Demonstration Project" was officially put into operation in Haiyan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province.
The project is a cooperation between Qinshan Nuclear Power and Haiyan County to use the remaining thermal power of Qinshan Nuclear Power Base units in winter to provide large-scale safe, zero-carbon, and economical nuclear heating for public facilities, residential communities and industrial parks in Haiyan County.
It is understood that the project is divided into three construction phases. The first phase has been completed. After the project is completed and put into operation, the annual heat supply will reach 704,000 GJ, meeting the heating demand of 4 million square meters.
