The fate of the CAF Champions League was suspended after the Cameroon Football Association officially announced its inability to host the CAF Champions League, amid news that the Egyptian Football Association was ready to host the tournament.
The Cameroonian Federation President Saidou Mbombo said in a press conference on the second day, according to the Egyptian website "In the Joule" that his country will not be able to host the semi-final and final matches of the Champions League.
He explained: "We apologize for not hosting the Champions League this season due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus, and the presence of health risks inside the country."
"We hope that the African Union will accept our official apology for hosting the continental championship competitions, and we wish success to the continent," he added.
