The European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for granting Ukraine and Moldova the status of EU candidates

This is stated in the message on the website of the EP.

45 parliamentarians opposed the adoption of the resolution, 14 more abstained.

In the text of the resolution, the EP calls on the EU summit to grant the status of EU candidates to Kyiv and Chisinau. 

Also in the resolution, the MEPs call on the EU to continue work on granting such a status to Georgia.

Earlier, Minister Delegate for European Affairs at the French Foreign Ministry Clement Bon said that there would be no accelerated procedure for Ukraine's accession to the EU, a long negotiation process was ahead.
