Ludwigshafen (dpa) - According to the police, a car driver in Rhineland-Palatinate was more than 100 kilometers per hour too fast, who said he wanted to go to the car wash before his wedding.

A measuring vehicle in the Ludwigshafen area, where 90 kilometers per hour are allowed, detected the car on Saturday 191, said the Ruchheim police station.

The driver stated that he was on his way to the car wash because he was going to get married at noon.

The officials would have congratulated the man - but also communicated the consequences of his journey: around 900 euros fine as well as two points in Flensburg and a two-month driving ban.
