According to the Supreme Court of the DPR, Swedish citizen Matias Gustavsson, Croatian citizen Vekoslav Prebeg and Briton John Harding were charged with crimes under the article on the forcible seizure of power and the forcible retention of power, as well as under the article on the participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict.

Briton Andrew Hill was charged under the article on the participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict, another British citizen, Dylan Healy, was charged with aiding in the recruitment of mercenaries for use in an armed conflict.

Matthias Gustavsson of Sweden, Croat Vekoslav Prebeg and John Harding of Britain face the death penalty, the agency said.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Donetsk People's Republic sent to court a criminal case against mercenaries from Croatia, Sweden and the UK.

The department emphasized that in wartime conditions, mercenaries face life imprisonment or the death penalty.
