It was a friend of the man who alerted the police and rescue service when he disappeared into the water at Mörtselsforsen a few kilometers north of Klubbfors.

During the night, a large search operation was underway with both helicopters, boats and people walking along the edges and searching.

- There have been quite a lot of people, including locals, who have been involved and searched, says Patric Persson, rescue chief on standby at the rescue service in Piteå.

According to Anders Lännholm, rescue leader at the Maritime and Air Rescue Center, the man was found at 02 o'clock at night by their rescue helicopter.

Relatives are notified.
