The daughter of the Sultan of Brunei celebrated her wedding with a ceremony described by international media as legendary, and the ceremony lasted for a whole week, day and night.

Princess Fadila Lubabul, 36, married the daughter of billionaire Sultan Hassan Bolkiah, one of the world's richest people, and his second wife, Maryam Abdel Aziz, who used to work as a flight attendant, married Awang Abdullah Nabil Mahmoud al-Hashemi.

Fadela studied at Kingston University, is the ninth of the Sultan's twelve children, is a captain of the Brunei national netball team and a healthcare activist.

The wedding celebrations began on January 16 with a ceremony in which the Sultan formally bestowed his blessing on the couple.

The religious part of the marriage took place last Thursday, January 20.

The celebrations concluded on Sunday with the “Persanding Stadiums Binjanten Deraga” or “Royal Wedding Ceremony” in a large gold-plated hall in the Royal Palace, according to the British newspaper, Daily Mail.

The couple wore two dresses with the same pattern in white and silver and decorated with diamonds.

The bride covered her hair with a piece of soft white lace, topped by a sparkling crown.
