The custody of the former Olympic champion swimmer Yannick Agnel, accused of rape and sexual assault on a minor, was extended Friday, told AFP the prosecutor of the Republic of Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin) Edwige Roux-Morizot .
Arrested at midday on Thursday at his home in Paris on rogatory commission, the 29-year-old former sportsman, retired from the basins since 2016, was placed in police custody as part of a judicial investigation opened in Mulhouse for "rape and sexual assault on a 15-year-old minor ”.

After two years spent training in the United States in the wake of his Olympic titles in London in 2012, Yannick Agnel returned to France and took a license from MON where he trained for two years, from 2014 to 2016. Yannick Agnel has one of the finest achievements in French swimming: he was double Olympic champion in London in 2012 in the 200m freestyle and the 4x100m relay, before being crowned world champion in these two disciplines in 2013.
