The vaccination rate may have exceeded 90% among the population over 12 years of age in Occitania, the decline in barrier gestures is certainly the cause of a rebound in the territory of the coronavirus epidemic.

The average rate is now 44.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the region according to the latest bulletin from the Regional Health Agency.

"In one week it has increased by 16% and four departments have exceeded the alert threshold of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants", indicated at the beginning of the week its regional director, Pierre Ricordeau.

[# Covid19] After several weeks of decline, health indicators indicate an epidemic resumption in France.

In Occitania, this recovery is being felt in health establishments: increase in hospitalizations and resuscitations.

Hospitalizations on the rise

Lozère, Tarn, Aude and Aveyron, whose rate now exceeds the threshold of 95 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, are the most affected.

While nearly 400 positive cases per day are detected, the increase is now also being felt in health establishments while so far hospitalizations for Covid-19 have been declining.

On Monday alone, seven new people were taken care of by the region's resuscitation services, with a total of 507 people hospitalized with coronavirus.

The over 65s are far from being spared, they have recorded an increase in contamination rate of 37%.

Hence the call from the Regional Health Agency to recall their anti-Covid vaccine if they received their last dose at least six months ago.

A call that also concerns vulnerable people.
