The corpse of a whale of about nine meters in length has appeared this Thursday morning on La Rada beach, in the Malaga municipality of Estepona, and is requiring an operation to remove it.
The local council has had to hire a specialized machinery service for the removal.
The work to remove the cetacean begins when authorized by the technicians of the
Center for the Recovery of Endangered Marine Species
(Crema) and the Environment agents of the Junta de Andalucía.
These professionals will take samples of
the muscle tissue of this mammal for later analysis
.
The specimen that has appeared on the beach of Estepona is a
male fin whale
, one of the most common large cetaceans in the Mediterranean, they have indicated from the Consistory.
Once it is removed, the body will be transferred by the company contracted for said tasks to an
authorized space for it
