According to local media reports, the Ferris wheel project was jointly developed by Longhu Group Fuzhou Company and Fuzhou Aimo Wheel. It is located in the core area of the East Second Ring Road, south of Huaming Road, Jin'an District, and on the side of Jin'an Lake. The first line is adjacent to Jin'an Lake Park. It covers an area of 61 mu, with a total construction area of 130,000 square meters and a total investment of RMB 1.33 billion.

The project will build the highest Ferris wheel in the province with a height of not less than 120 meters, and build a super-large Ferris wheel cultural and tourism commercial complex that integrates culture, leisure, art, catering and shopping, recreation and sports, amusement, and office around it.

At the scene, a reporter from Chinanews.com observed that some metal components of the Ferris wheel's runner were severely deformed and fell off, breaking into multiple parts, smashing the ground building.

Currently, police cars and park security have maintained order at the scene.

Residents at the scene recalled that around 14:45, the upper part of the Ferris wheel deformed and fell off. When the metal components fell to the ground, there was a loud metal impact sound. The whole process lasted more than 20 minutes.

"It's a shame that the Ferris wheel was built with only a part of it. Fortunately, a fall-off accident occurred during the construction process. If it is built and operated, the consequences will be disastrous."

According to the official response, firefighters and emergency personnel have arrived at the scene, the scene has been sealed off, and rescue is under way. No casualties have been reported so far.
