The Argentine Parliament suspends a deputy because of a "shot" with his wife during a video session

The Argentine Parliament suspended the membership of one of its members after he appeared during a parliamentary session, making an intimate movement with his wife, in a scene that was widely spread on social media.

On the giant screen placed in Parliament during these sessions in which a small number of deputies participate in the presence, and as one of the members began to make a statement, a woman appeared on a part of the screen next to the representative of the Salta region (northeast) Juan Emilio Amiri, who joined her in his arms and then kissed Her chest.

Subsequently, Parliament Speaker Sergio Massa suspended the session before adjourning it.

"During these months of remote work, we have witnessed different attitudes of deputies who became sleepy or disappeared from the screen during the sessions, but the situation that we saw goes beyond the rules of good behavior in this assembly," Massa said.

Following this embarrassing situation, Amiri tried to justify his position, explaining that he had thought that his picture was not appearing on the screen at that moment.

Parliament is expected to determine the punishment that it intends to inflict on the deputy during the next five days.

Massa, a member of the government coalition led by President Alberto Fernandez from the left of the center, expressed in an interview with an Argentine news channel his "regret" and "great shame" about the incident, but denied his intention to resign.

The father of three children indicated that his wife was "in a very bad condition" and that she "does not stop crying" since the accident.

Pictures of the incident were widely shared in Argentina, with often harsh comments on social media.
