Even if the corona 19 situation worsens and social distancing is upgraded to three stages, the 2021 College Aptitude Test (SAT) scheduled for December 3 this year will be administered as scheduled.

The number of test takers per test room is limited to a maximum of 24, and a separate test room is prepared for test takers with suspected symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, at each SAT test site.

Self-quarantine and confirmed patients can also take the test at separate test centers, hospitals and living treatment facilities.

In order to prevent the spread of Corona 19, from November 26, a week before the SAT, high school 3 and high school 1 and 2 will also switch to full distance classes.

The Ministry of Education and the National Council of Provincial Superintendents of Education announced today (28th) a college admissions management plan for 2021 after consultation with the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters (middle script) and the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Ministry of Education and the Council said that even in the third stage of distancing, taking the SAT was recognized as an exception to the group ban.

An official from the Ministry of Education said, "Even if the distance is upgraded to three stages, it means that you will see the SAT."

The Ministry of Education and the Council will lower the number of people per exam room from 28 to a maximum of 24 and install a partition in front of the student's desk to ensure the safety of candidates from Corona 19.

In addition, a management system is established by dividing test takers into general test takers, self-quarantine, and confirmed patients.

A fever test is performed for general candidates, and those who do not have a fever take the SAT in a general examination room notified in advance.

After the second examination, the fever person takes the SAT in a separate examination room in the examination room according to symptoms.

The Ministry of Education and the Council are planning to secure about 5 separate test rooms for each test site.

Self-quarantine candidates take the SAT in a separate test center from the general test center.

In the case of confirmed cases, they take the SAT at a hospital or life treatment facility under the supervisor's protection.

Accordingly, the number of SAT exam rooms increased by 58% (412,000,173) from 21,000 last year to 33,173 this year.

Among them, the number of test rooms for general examinees was 25,318, up 20.6% (4,318) from last year (21,000).

There are 78,55 test rooms for bequest boxers, and 759 test rooms for self-isolation have been established.

An official from the Ministry of Education explained, "We have strengthened our quarantine measures compared to the 2010 SAT, when the new influenza epidemic was prevalent," and said, "We will ask local governments to cooperate with each other for self-isolation testees to move to the test room."

The number of management personnel such as test supervision and quarantine is expected to be 129,000, up 30.7% (3,410) from last year.

The Ministry of Education believes that non-teachers and other faculty members should also be used as management personnel for the SAT.

From November 26, a week before the SAT, to lower the risk of COVID-19 infection and prepare for quarantine measures in schools used as test sites, high schools nationwide will switch to full distance classes.

The Ministry of Education and the council are planning to request that the candidates refrain from going out as much as possible during this period and to strictly follow the rules of living prevention.

The Ministry of Education and the Council provide sufficient preliminary training for test management personnel and provide quarantine supplies such as masks, gowns, goggles, and face protection.

Proctor chairs are also placed to improve the test supervision environment.

From the beginning of November, we intensively track the size of test takers who are restricted from moving due to self-isolation by city and province, and based on this, create a test environment in hospitals and life treatment facilities for confirmed examinees, and add a test room for patients with symptoms and self-isolation. Decide whether to secure it.

The Ministry of Education said that it has embodied the support plan in consultation with the Korea Council for University Education (Korea University Education Association) and the Korea Professional University Education Association (Korea University Education Association) so that self-isolation candidates can apply for admission as much as possible.

The Ministry of Education explained that in consultation with the quarantine authorities, the university evaluation was also recognized as an exception to the group ban.

In addition, Seoul, Gyeongin (Gyeonggi, Incheon), Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeolla, Daegyeong (Daegu, Gyeongbuk), Boulgyeong (Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam), Jeju, etc., so that self-isolation candidates can take the assessment by university even if they do not go to the university location. It was decided to install a separate test center by dividing it into 8 regions.

Each university is advised to apply for self-isolation test takers in all screenings as much as possible, and to inform the test takers in advance if restrictions are inevitable.

A separate test center will be placed in consideration of the trend of self-isolation test takers starting next month.

Based on the information of candidates who are admitted by the university and the information of the quarantine/confirmed by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Daekyo Association creates information on the quarantine and confirmation of the test takers, and the university provides self-quarantine candidates whether they can take the test, the location and date of evaluation, and how to move the test center separately. Etc.

Unlike the SAT, the chances of taking the test for confirmed patients are limited in the university-specific evaluation.
