[Commentary] The 37th Weifang International Kite Festival kicked off on September 26 in Weifang, Shandong.

More than 700 kite enthusiasts from 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China gathered on site to demonstrate kite patterns and flying skills.

　　[Explanation] The reporter saw at the flying scene that day that kite enthusiasts from all over China successively lifted all kinds of peculiarly shaped kites into the sky. The types of kites involved cartoon characters, animals, and Chinese historical figures.

Among them, the kite series that pays tribute to the front-line medical staff in the fight against the epidemic attracts particular attention.

　　I started making kites in (20)12. This year, I made this white angel's kite because of the epidemic, as a tribute to the medical staff.

The kite of the angel in white was a kite with a wingspan of 12 meters and a height of 9 meters.

　　[Explanation] It is understood that this kite festival adopts classified flying performances. The preparatory committee specially organized the production of "white angels" kites to pay tribute to the medical workers; produced the "Noah's Ark" kites to pay tribute to the warriors against the floods; produced " "Dove of Peace" kite, pray for peace.

Compared with ordinary kites, the difficulty of making these giant kites is much higher.

　　The classical character kites have been made, but those do not have the feeling of this modern character.

We changed the fabric for this white angel this year, because the kite used to make the kite had poor light transmittance. This year, we chose this material, which is a rather vague one. The overall (looks) looks like a (rich) picture. There were several schemes used for the skeleton at that time, because after being propped up, there would be a lot of wrinkles on the face. Later, several schemes were changed to finalize one, and now the face looks more integrated.

　　[Explanation] Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the Weifang International Kite Festival was held in the autumn for the first time in history.

With the theme of "Facing the future, embracing the world, and blooming beautiful", the current Weifang International Kite Fair will start on September 26 and continue to end on October 8.
