I will start with the news of the Korea-US summit held on the afternoon of the 21st.

President Seok-Yeol Yoon and President Joe Biden sat facing each other much longer than the scheduled time.

The key that penetrated the talks was the 'evolution of the ROK-US alliance' for a new era.

First of all, this is reporter Kim Min-jung.

On the second day of his visit to Korea, US President Joe Biden started his schedule with a visit to the Seoul National Cemetery.

After he finished the wreath with only an interpreter, he headed straight to the Yongsan Presidential Office.

President Yoon Seok-yeol met President Biden directly at the entrance on the first floor.

President Biden wrote in his guestbook: "Thank you for the hospitality and alliance."

The two leaders, who met side by side wearing a blue tie, put their hands on their shoulders or held hands to express their intimacy.

The summit took place in three stages.

It was followed by a small-group meeting, attended by the leaders of both countries and two close aides, to a private conversation with only an interpreter, and then to an extended meeting attended by officials from the two governments and the presidential office.

The meeting lasted 1 hour and 49 minutes, exceeding the originally scheduled 90 minutes.

The two leaders held a press conference based on the joint declaration containing the results of the talks.

The two leaders said they agreed to develop the existing ROK-U.S. alliance into a global comprehensive strategic alliance that contributes to security in the Indo-Pacific region and the world based on universal values.

[President Seok-Yeol Yoon: As a global comprehensive strategic alliance, we intend to create a norm-based order together while coping with these challenges as a global comprehensive strategic alliance.]

[Joe Biden/President of the United States: Cooperation between the United States and Korea at the global and regional levels is We believe that it is very important for strategic development.]

The 11-page A4-size joint declaration contains plans for joint US-ROK response to North Korea, economic and security cooperation, and South Korea's contribution to the international community.
