Next Monday will be a moment of emotion and reflection in schools to pay tribute to Professor Samuel Paty, beheaded in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine.

The Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, confirmed Thursday on France 2 that the tribute to be paid Monday to Samuel Paty in all schools will be maintained, despite the return of the country under confinement due to the second wave of Covid-19.

This start of the school year will be postponed to 10 a.m., to allow teachers to prepare.

Then a “pedagogical sequence” will be organized in the classes, before the reading of “the letter to the teachers” by Jean Jaurès and a minute of silence.

Knowing that each teacher will be free to talk about the tragedy, to approach again the theme of freedom of expression or secularism.
