Afghanistan's ruling Taliban have fired warning shots to disperse protesters in the capital Kabul, AFP news agency reported.

Today (13th), about 40 women protested in front of the Kabul Ministry of Education building.

The women chanted "Bread, work and freedom" and "We are sick of being ignored."

There was also a sign saying 'August 15 is Black Day'.

It seems to mean that Afghanistan has entered a dark age after the Taliban succeeded in re-establishing power on August 15 last year.

Witnesses said the Taliban started firing guns into the air and dispersed the protesters.

Some have been beaten with guns wielded by the Taliban, and some have been imprisoned in a corner of a store.

After returning to power, the Taliban announced several appeasement measures, such as respect for women's human rights and the establishment of an inclusive government, but they have not been properly followed.

The Taliban government has promised several times that it will allow all middle and high school girls to attend school, but it changed the language on the first day of the new school year in March.

Women are no longer able to travel long distances without a male guardian, and women are required to wear clothes that cover their faces.
