On April 26, a cargo ship in Taitung, Taiwan collided with a foreign oil tanker and sank, and all nine people on board were rescued.

The Taitung cargo ship "Dafa No. 1" set off from the fishing port to Lanyu for delivery. Just after sailing about 3 or 4 nautical miles, it collided with a Liberian oil tanker departing from Singapore to South Korea. Due to the disparity in tonnage of the two ships, "Dafa No. 1" was hit and sank on the spot, and all 9 people on board fell into the sea.

All the cargo on the ship sank to the bottom of the sea, and the initial estimated loss was about NT$60 million to NT$70 million (RMB 13.42 million-15.66 million).
