Swedish authorities to hold emergency meeting amid leaks at Nord Stream

"As soon as we became aware of this, we convened an emergency meeting at the government level with the participation of key departments," Aftonbladet newspaper quoted the minister as saying.

Earlier, Nord Stream 2 AG reported an emergency on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

The operator also reported a pressure drop in both Nord Stream lines.

Sources in the German newspaper Tagesspiegel cited targeted sabotage as the alleged cause of the incident.

An expert of the National Energy Security Fund, a lecturer at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, Stanislav Mitrakhovich, in an interview with RT, commented on the message of Nord Stream AG that the destruction that occurred on three strings of offshore gas pipelines of the Nord Stream system is unprecedented.
