Libyan commentator Hazem El Kadiki stated that the Egyptian football star and Liverpool's top scorer, Mohamed Salah, has a connection to the Egyptian Football Association's contract with Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz to lead the Egyptian team, to succeed coach Hossam El Badry, who was dispensed with.
Hazem El Kadiki wrote on his account on the social networking site "Twitter", after the Egyptian Federation announced the contract with Queiroz today, Wednesday: "Urgent from sources close to the pride of the Arabs, Mo Salah, who nominated Carlos Queiroz as technical director of the Egyptian team."
And he added in another tweet, "Carlos Queiroz, 68, was recently sacked from coaching the Colombian national team, following the heavy loss against Ecuador 5/0, and his former Colombian business manager, Rami Abbas, the current business manager of Fakhr Al-Arab."
In the first reaction from Mohamed Salah to the Egyptian Football Association's contract with Carlos Queiroz, the Liverpool star posted a picture of him on his account on "Instagram", during which he appeared smiling, which some interpreted as an expression of his happiness in contracting with Queiroz.
Today, Wednesday, the Egyptian Football Association announced that it had signed veteran Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz to lead the national team, replacing Hossam El-Badry, who was sacked by the federation two days ago.
Al-Ittihad said in a statement that Diaa El-Sayed and Mohamed Shawky will assist Queiroz, while Essam El-Hadary will become a goalkeeper coach.
He added that the Portuguese coach will arrive in Cairo next week.
He explained, "The technical staff supporting Queiroz will arrive at the beginning of next week, and it includes a foreign assistant, a performance analyst and a rehabilitation specialist.
Queiroz, 68, has previously coached the national teams of Portugal, the Emirates, South Africa, Colombia and Iran. He also coached Real Madrid and Sporting Lisbon and worked as an assistant coach for the legendary Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
