Sudanese sources: Abdullah Hamdouk has returned to his home
A source in Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok's office and a security source told Reuters that Hamdok has returned to his home.
"Abdullah Hamdok has been returned to his home in Kafouri and security measures have been taken around the house," a military official told AFP, on condition of anonymity.
The official refused to answer a question whether this meant his release or his placement under house arrest.
The commander of the Sudanese army, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, had stated that Hamdok was neither arrested nor kidnapped.
Al-Burhan said, in a press conference earlier today, Tuesday, that "as soon as things stabilize, Hamdok will return to his home."
He added: "We feared for him and moved him to the guest house and I sat with him at home yesterday. He was neither kidnapped nor arrested, and we hope that his support for the transitional period will continue."
Al-Burhan praised Hamdok's efforts, and said that the political forces "were shackled him in his work."
