As a result of inquiries from 35 fishing cooperatives in Okinawa Prefecture, as of the 25th, about 750 fishing boats were unable to go fishing due to concerns about engine trouble caused by pumice stones.
On the 27th, the prefecture held the first meeting of the emergency response team and confirmed the policy of promptly removing pumice stones in the fishing port while utilizing the national disaster recovery project.
On top of that, the prefecture hopes to proceed with contracts with contractors within this week and prepare for removal.
