The pioneers of social networking sites circulated a video of the match, in which Mourinho appears angry at the repeated stopping of play and the fall of Verona players for wasting time, at a time he wanted more lost time, and after the referee declared the red card in his face, Mourinho went crazy and tried to attack the referee, but the Roma goalkeeper coach prevent him from doing so.
The cameras monitored a series of abuses committed by Mourinho in the match, most notably catching the ball and kicking it violently away from the field in a strange scene on European professional stadiums, as if it was a match in the street.
The Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta" reported that the referee's father, Pareto, held the position of vice-president of the European Football Association's referees committee at the time of the scandal and was sentenced to 42 months' suspension, then sentenced to 16 months in prison, before he was later acquitted.
