The 27-year-old had two more throws (67.51 and 66.70) which were better than the competition's second Simon Pettersson, who pulled off the discus 66.11 meters as the best.

Ståhl would have competed in Malmö two weeks ago but withdrew at the last minute to spend two weeks on technical training. Today's result is his third best this season. Season best 70.25 he won in Helsingborg on 21 June.
