Top Gear France welcomes a new member. Luc Alphand will join the RMC Découverte show at the start of the new school year, and will complete the team made up of Philippe Lellouche, Bruce Jouanny and Le Tone.

The choice of Luc Alphand is not very surprising, because after a sporting career in skiing, he became a racing driver and notably won the Dakar in 2006.

The “fantastic four”

“We were looking for someone famous who was in the DNA of  Top Gear , a group of friends with cars. Viewers need to find their cuddly toy, but also to be amazed ", explained to the Parisian  Stéphane Sallé de Chou, in charge of RMC Découverte's documentary and stream programs. “It is more than legitimate in this exercise. Luc won a Dakar and won many medals in skiing. You have to have a hell of a grain to hit the Kitzbühel track in Austria at more than 150 km / h. That's all we were looking for. With him, we have our fantastic four, ”he added.

For its part, RMC Découverte praised in a press release "its knowledge of the automobile, its sporty driving, its humor and its temperament of high level sportsman", reports Puremédias. Will Luc Alphand be up to the challenges of the show? Answer in a few months.
