The Canadian startup Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC) has announced that it has partnered with SpaceX to carry out a space advertising support project.

he is building a satellite specifically for Operation CubeSat, which will eventually be put into orbit by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket en route to the United States. Moon.

CubeSat has a screen on which advertisers can broadcast their advertising spots.

The space will also be able to accommodate other types of images, such as logos or works of art.

The satellite is also equipped with a rod that will function as a selfie stick.

A camera placed at its end will indeed film what the screen broadcasts from space.

The images will be viewable live on YouTube, Twitch and other media platforms.

“I'm trying to come up with something that will democratize access to space and make decentralized participation possible,” said Samuel Reid.

"Some companies may want to design their logo ... Or in the end, we can also have [visuals] a little more personal and artistic."

The entrepreneur had contacted SpaceX in 2018 to present his project.

However, he had to wait until he became a teacher at the school founded by Elon Musk and have the billionaire's children as students before catching the attention of the space company.

A payment for each pixel

To project the image of their choice on the screen, customers and advertisers will have to pay for each pixel that makes up the desired design.

The price of a pixel on the CubeSat screen has not yet been released.

Payment will be made in cryptocurrencies.

GEC intends to accept dogecoin payments afterwards as well.

For each pixel, the buyer will be able to choose the location on the screen, the brightness, the lifespan and the color.
