This emerges from a survey that the State Statistical Office published in Stuttgart on Friday.

A total of around 39,000 people died of a disease of the cardiovascular system.

With 26,113 cases, cancer was the second leading cause of death.

In 2019, a total of 111,582 people died in Baden-Württemberg.

Compared to the previous year, this corresponds to a decrease of 0.4 percent.
