The PS5 shortage has left many gamers frustrated.

Sony is well aware of this.

The Japanese company has planned to do everything to meet demand.

According to Insider Gaming editor Tom Henderson, it will produce 30 million consoles by 2023, reports Phonandroid.

A number that is surprising.

Last June, less than two years after the launch, 20 million copies were sold.

At that time Sony had guaranteed that it would increase the production of its consoles.

The company's strategy would be based on the PS5 Slim, which is scheduled for release in 2023.

A lot of people missed this, but Sony is aiming to produce over 30 million PS5's in FY23.

Crazy numbers.

A cheaper console

For now, it's hard to say how the appearance of a console with a new thinner chassis and a new detachable disc drive could help increase PS5 production.

However, this new model will offer more choices to players in store.

And it's not just the size of this slim model that should be reduced, but also its price.

By increasing its production, Sony would manage to stay the course compared to its competitor Microsoft.

The American giant does not encounter any stock difficulties with its Xbox Series X.
