France 2 and Nagui will launch on September 11 in the first part of the evening "The Artist", an unprecedented and live tele-hook, rival the same day of "The Voice All Stars" (TF1), and intended to reveal "complete artists" , both authors, composers and performers.
"Revealing voices, it's already done. What interests us are the songs, the texts and the melodies, those who have the capacity to write, compose and interpret," Nagui explained on Monday during the presentation of this program of which he had the idea.
For this inaugural season which will include six weekly bonuses, 22 candidates (solo, duo or group) have already been selected from 1,600 applications by music professionals and personalities from France Télévisions and France Inter, partner of the tele-hook including the godmother is Clara Luciani ("Grenada", "The rest").
A daily variation of "The Artist", with masterclasses hosted by Gaëtan Roussel, Bénabar, Vincent Delerm or Claudio Capéo, will be offered on France 4 by Leïla Kaddour-Boudadi, as well as in "La Bande original", an animated program from France Inter also by Nagui.
The winning artist or group will be chosen by a jury and by a free public vote organized each week on the show's Instagram account (@theartistoff).
"We are not here to promise millions. This is not the kind of public service. We are not here to force them to sign a contract in a record company. What interests them the most is this. 'is to be accompanied on radio, television and on stage, ”Nagui said.
For Stéphane Sitbon, director of programs for the public television group, "revealing complete artists is what France Televisions must do today. The audience is not the only question that interests me in this affair".
