So do the travel companies to reduce the risk of infection

All of the travel companies that SVT News has talked to say that they have measures to reduce the risk of contagion among summer domestic travelers.

More frequent cleaning routines, information and invitations to travelers before and during the journey as well as more generous re-booking and cancellation routines are recurring with most.

But only SJ and Snälltåg state that they changed their booking routines so that single travelers do not have to sit next to someone else.

At MTRX, SAS and Flixbus there is no booking stop, which means that their tours can be fully booked.

MTRX offers travelers to buy the seat next door for SEK 150. Mats Johanneson agrees that some responsibility for keeping the social distance is thus transferred to the traveler. But emphasizes that it is important to "help in these times."

- It will be a great responsibility both for us and for those who are going to travel. The most important thing is to stay home if you are sick, he says.

Nor has Flixbus chosen to limit the number of tickets sold per departure.

- We have been in contact with our industry organization and the Public Health Authority regarding the guidelines for distance and distance. As we follow the authorities' instructions, we decided to extend the tours instead of introducing a booking stop, says Jelena Jovanovic, press officer at Flixbus.

"During the midsummer weekend, however, it was full on several departures - we couldn't get up," she says.

At SAS, mandatory mouth protection requirements have been introduced for all passengers, which is checked at boarding.

"Even in flights that are not fully booked, it is difficult to maintain the social distance," says Freja Annamatz, press officer at SAS.

Both SAS, Flixbus and MTR state that they have gone into traffic to meet the increased demand when travel restrictions eased on 13 June. But because of the current pandemic situation, the supply is lower than an ordinary summer.

At Flixbus, travel offers are more than 50 percent lower, and at SAS 70 percent lower.
