The smoke comes from a couple of major conservation fires in the vicinity of Österfärnebo and in an area east of Horndal and can be felt and seen at very long distances due to the wind, according to the rescue service.

During the night and morning, SOS has received many conversations about smoke odor and visible smoke.

- We have many cases lying around and the rescue services assess each of them as they need to be confirmed from where it comes. says Lukas Hettman on SOS alarm.

The rescue service now appeals to anyone who sees light smoke flames or feels the smell of smoke to avoid calling 112 unless you see open flames or clear concentrated smoke columns. However, if you see open flames or clear concentrated smoke columns, 112 should be contacted immediately, according to the rescue service.
