Ryoyu Kobayashi, a ski jumper who won the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics, has unveiled a training camp for his team in Miyakojima City, Okinawa Prefecture for the coming season.

Kobayashi won two medals, including winning the gold medal for the first time in 24 years at the Beijing Olympics ski jump, and also won the World Cup for the first time as a Japanese man's second overall victory.

The state of the training camp was released to the press from the 23rd, and training was conducted on the sandy beach from the afternoon.

Kobayashi worked to strengthen his lower body by repeatedly jumping from a bent state and running.

At the training camp, we are incorporating ball games such as tennis as a menu to cultivate the momentary judgment and instantaneous power necessary for jump competitions held under various weather conditions, so on the 23rd, we will beach volleyball on a sandy beach with poor footing. I played volleyball and improved my endurance.

Kobayashi said, "I haven't been able to practice at all so far, so it's hard from morning till night, but I'm training well. I want to build a body that can fly by winter. "

Celebrating his 50th birthday on the 6th of next month, he is aiming to participate in the World Cup next season. I was able to do it and I was confident. I want to fully open the engine so that it will come back next season. "

The training camp will be held until the 7th of next month, and from the end of next month, ski jumping practice will start in Yamagata prefecture and other places.
