His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement between Mubadala Investment Company and the United Kingdom's Department of International Trade, for sovereign investment between the UAE and the United Kingdom worth 10 billion. pound.
The agreement was signed at the British Prime Minister's Residence by Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, Managing Director and CEO of the Group, and Lord Gerry Grimston, Minister of Investment at the Ministry of International Trade.
The agreement aims to expand the scope of the sovereign investment partnership between the two countries, which was announced last March.
Under this agreement, the UAE will invest 10 billion pounds in the “sovereign investment partnership” between the two countries, which is supervised by the UK Investment Office and Mubadala Investment Company, while the partnership will focus, during the next five years, on pumping large investments in three new sectors. , are: technology, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
His Highness' visit also witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda, including:

- A memorandum of understanding in the field of artificial intelligence between the Office of Social Intelligence in the Prime Minister’s Office in the UAE and the Department of International Trade in the United Kingdom, signed by Ahmed Al-Sayegh and the Minister of Investment in the Ministry of International Trade, Lord Gerry Grimstone.
- A memorandum of cooperation in the field of “confronting climate change” between the Office of the United Arab Emirates Special Envoy for Climate Change and the Office of the President of the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26), signed by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, and on the British side, Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, James Cleverly.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the reception hosted by His Highness the British Prime Minister at the Prime Minister's headquarters.
During the ceremony, His Highness expressed his thanks and appreciation to Boris Johnson for the warm reception and hospitality he received in this friendly country.
He praised the level of development of relations between the UAE and Britain, stressing his keenness to develop this cooperation and push it forward with accelerated steps, for the good of the two countries and their peoples, and wished the United Kingdom and its friendly people continued progress and prosperity.
His Highness said: "We must strengthen the building of a strong and solid bridge between us, especially since the friendship and cooperation relations that unite our two countries date back decades."
For his part, Prime Minister Boris Johnson welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, pointing to the depth of the Emirati-British relations, which are a model for friendship, cooperation and joint action that unite countries.
He also extended his thanks and appreciation to the UAE "for its efforts and assistance in evacuating British nationals from Afghanistan, along with nationals of many partner countries, which would not have been possible without the friendship, cooperation and support provided by the UAE."
He said: "I am happy to see you today, and this is an important day for us, because we are in the process of launching the investment partnership between our two countries, in which we have made great progress, and we are keen to advance joint efforts to strengthen aspects of cooperation between us."
The British Prime Minister valued the efforts made by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in building the future of the partnership between the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.
"There are long-term common goals for the United Kingdom and the UAE, which is very impressive, and I think we have reached a great stage," he said.
