A woman stabbed her husband several times after she thought she had found photos of him with a younger woman.

And it became clear after the accident that that "other" woman was the same, but at a younger age than her current age.

Police in Sonora, Mexico, reported that the photo of the couple was taken years ago when they were dating.

Kajime municipal authorities said the woman, identified only as "Leonora", was arrested for stabbing her husband, Juan, with a knife, after several photos of him with Belle were found on his mobile phone.

The pair, who was eventually able to take the knife from her, explained that the photos were of them when they were younger and thinner.

Apparently Juan had convinced his wife to digitize the old footage to store on his mobile phone, but the wife may have forgotten about it.

Fortunately for the man, police arrived at the scene after neighbors heard screaming and the sounds of a fight.

Local media reported that the woman is being held by authorities pending charges.
