The Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah valued the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, to restructure the social support program for low-income people into an integrated program with an amount of 28 billion dirhams, which supports social stability and a decent life for the people of the country.

This came during the council's meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, yesterday.

The Council praised the comprehensiveness of the social support program, which reflects the keenness of His Highness the President of the State to support and assist the Emirati family and provide what it needs to achieve stability and live in well-being and tranquility.

As part of its ongoing plans for setting general policies for the emirate and working to implement them with government departments and agencies, developing government work and providing the best services and initiatives, the council discussed a number of issues related to the development of various sectors and systems.

In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at providing family stability and adequate housing for the Emirati family, the Council approved the second batch for the current year of housing support beneficiaries, which included 519 beneficiaries, with a total amount of more than 370 million dirhams.

The new batch included the various beneficiaries of loans and grants at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah, and the purposes of assistance varied for the new construction, completion, addition, maintenance and obtaining a government housing and a mini housing unit.

The value of housing support has reached seven billion and 806 million dirhams, since 2012, benefiting more than 10 thousand beneficiaries in the cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The council approved the list of those exempted from paying housing loans, and the value of the exemption from paying housing loans for the current year is 25 million and 600,000 dirhams for cases that meet the exemption conditions for those whose monthly income has permanently fallen below the specified ceiling.

The council reviewed a detailed report on the pastoral model in the Emirate of Sharjah, which was approved by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and the plans for the implementation of pastures and the facilities and services they will include.

The report included the components of the Nuzha pasture project in the Madame area, which include the primary and future farms, pastoral areas, irrigation gatherings, fenced planting areas, management and services complex, oasis, winter rest for halal breeders, and a Bedouin life garden.

Structuring the social support program for low-income people supports social stability and provides a decent life for the people of the country.
