Sharjah Environment and Natural Reserves Authority has revealed the rehabilitation of the only old bridge that connects the reserve with the city of Kalba with a span of 100 meters.

The authority stressed that the development projects of the reserve will make it a destination for nature and adventure lovers and an important tourist, environmental and educational destination, as work is being done to achieve the first educational center in which it will be one of the qualitative centers specialized in scientific and environmental research.

She explained that there will be close cooperation between educational bodies such as the Research Center at the University of Sharjah in the area of ​​scientific research and the reproduction of endangered fish.

The educational center will also provide an opportunity for students, undergraduates and researchers to get acquainted with the components of the natural reserve by creating a large walkway on both sides of the water basins that includes the most important marine creatures present.

The authority implements a group of recreational and scientific projects aiming to educate society groups about the importance of the natural environment and embracing all types of birds threatened with extinction, as well as building permanent nests for green turtles and falcon-threatened falconers.

The authority made efforts in cooperation with several government agencies to protect the Khor Kalba region from environmental degradation, by removing industrial waste suspended between the rocks and roots of mangroves, as well as the continuous cleaning of sand and removing materials that affect the life and biological diversity, which contributed to the return of marine snails and shells Small cancers and their spread over an area of ​​more than two kilometers.
