According to the Prison Service, the number of inmates in Sweden's prisons and institutions has increased due to the government's investment in harsher punishments and more police officers.
This means that the Prison Service's costs and recruitment needs will increase drastically.
And the work to find new staff is underway at Hällbyanstalten.
- We are in the middle of recruitment now and interviewing at full capacity, but it is not entirely easy to find suitable correctional officers, says Peter Kjellin, head of the Hällby prison.
