Berlin (dpa / bb) - Berlin's Senator for Economic Affairs Ramona Pop has spoken out in favor of making pilot projects possible again soon in the capital during the corona pandemic.
The aim is to try out opportunities for relaxation.
"In this phase of the pandemic, pilot projects are important to prepare the way for further cautious openings," said the Green politician to the German press agency.
The events industry in particular was particularly hard hit by the long forced Corona break, said Pop. "With the phasing out of the federal emergency brake, we want to enable Berlin pilot projects such as the Green Tech Festival or the Capital City Congress to show how events and conferences can be implemented more safely and in a pandemic-compliant manner using digital possibilities."
The federal emergency brake takes effect from a stable seven-day incidence of 100. The number indicates how many new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants were recorded in the past seven days.
In Berlin, the value fell below this mark on Friday at 98.6 for the first time in a long time.
On Saturday it was 97.0, on Sunday it was 99.6.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the value has risen just above the 100 mark.
On Monday morning, the value in the RKI dashboard was given as 100.8.

The stricter contact rules and the exit restrictions under the federal emergency brake can be overridden in a district or a city if the value there is below 100 for five days in a row.
In Berlin, the Senate is expected to deliberate on the subject on Tuesday.
