Did Elon Musk suddenly become generous?

No.

However, according to emails received by some Internet users, the boss of Tesla and SpaceX, via a foundation, would be ready to send you Bitcoins for free.

This is of course a scam, reports

.

The disputed email is sent by the “Elon Musk Mutual Aid Fund” or the “Elon Musk Club” and it tells you that you can receive Bitcoins for free.

But mistrust is obvious from the outset.

The subject of the message is sometimes unclear and the email contains an attachment in HTML format called "Get free Bitcoins".

A promise of 0.001 to 0.055 Bitcoin

By opening the attachment, one is redirected to a website where all participants can get 0.001 to 0.055 Bitcoin.

By clicking on "Accept invitation", the user is directed to a page titled "Bitcoin Donate".

At this point, you must give personal information such as the Bitcoin address, name and a photo.

Finally, a third page opens.

The names of alleged donors are written there.

Once you have gone through to the end of the process, in order to receive the money you are asked to pay some sort of commission in Bitcoin for “financial assistance” reasons.

You are off to drop 0.0001 Bitcoin, which represents approximately 3.84 euros.

An amount that will be sent to scammers and permanently lost.

Last May, crooks who had usurped Elon Musk's identity managed to recover two million dollars in Bitcoin.
