Saudi Arabia adopts 5 countries to complete the procedures for pilgrims before arrival, including an Arab country
Today, Saturday, the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced that there are five countries in which the procedures for pilgrims are completed before their arrival in the Kingdom to perform the Hajj this year.
And the Saudi Press Agency "SPA" reported today that "the Ministry of Interior launched the "Mecca Road" initiative, as part of the initiatives of the Serving Guests of Rahman Program, one of the programs of the Saudi Vision 2030, in 5 countries, including Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco and Bangladesh.
The ministry explained that the "Makkah Road" initiative aims to receive pilgrims and complete their procedures from their countries with ease, starting with issuing the visa electronically and taking vital characteristics, and passing through the completion of passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure after verifying the availability of health requirements, in addition to coding and sorting luggage. According to the arrangements for transportation and housing in Saudi Arabia, and upon their arrival, they move directly to buses to take them to their places of residence in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, with designated paths, while the service authorities will deliver their luggage to their homes.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Interior implements the initiative in cooperation with the ministries of "Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah", the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAYA), the Program for serving the Guests of Rahman, the General Directorate of Passports, and Elm Company.
Today, Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah received the first of the first Indonesian pilgrims.
On the ninth of last month, Saudi Arabia announced that it had decided to raise the number of pilgrims this year to one million, while allowing those coming from outside the Kingdom to perform the Hajj rituals according to the quotas allocated to countries, taking into account health recommendations.
The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, said on Thursday that the ministry is working to ensure the health of pilgrims during this year, stressing that digital technologies will help organize the Hajj season perfectly, and that the Hajj smart card will be implemented this year.
