The Ulla Billquist scholarship, which is awarded every year to a female artist who through her artistry enriches the Swedish music scene, goes this year to the artist Sarah Klang.

She is awarded a prize money of SEK 30,000.

- It gives me a warm feeling that my music has touched and been listened to, which of course is every songwriter and singer's goal and dream.

I believe that art and music bring people together and create empathy and understanding, something that I wish Ulla and other women from her time could take part in to a greater extent, says Sarah Klang in a press release.

Folkets hus och parker has since 1984 awarded the scholarship in honor of singer Ulla Billquist.

The scholarship recipient is awarded SEK 30,000.
