The rising swimmer of the national team, Salem Ghaleb, confirmed that his goal is to be in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, after obtaining the preparation period that qualifies him for the competition, noting that he did not get many colorful medals in the Arab Swimming Championship, which concluded yesterday at the Mohammed bin Zayed Sports Center in Abu Dhabi. , returns to the age stage in which he participates, as he participates in the stage of 16-18 years, and he is 16 years old, meaning that he competes with swimmers two years older than him.

Salem Ghaleb won four medals: silver and bronze in the singles, and gold and silver in the relay.

The rising swimmer in the national team, Salem Ghaleb, maintained his strong presence in the UAE swimming after he succeeded in achieving 10 new international records in his name through his participation in the Arab Swimming Championship.

Salem Ghaleb, who joined the talented program launched by the General Sports Authority, said: “My goal is to officially qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, and I am working on that from now on through continuous training, and I seek a balance between school and daily training in the club, in addition to being in the gym. The national team camp, and the Arab championship was wonderful and came after a long absence from stopping participating in local and Arab championships.”

Salem Ghaleb succeeded in setting 10 new international records in the “200 medley medley” races with a time of 2:08:50 minutes, the “200 meter butterfly” race with a time of 2:04:60 minutes, and the “100 medley medley” with a time of 59:04 seconds. And “200 meters freestyle” with a time of 1:53:36 minutes, and “100 meters freestyle” with a time of 50:30 seconds.

All these numbers were recorded in his name at the 16 and 17 years of age.
