“The WHO Director General in Geneva is directly involved in the issue of vaccine registration,” Hluge quotes TASS.

According to him, the delegation of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, together with the staff of the Russian Foreign Ministry, met with the head of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, last Friday, November 19.

The parties agreed that by the end of the year the Russian side will “send some more data”, after which a schedule for repeated inspections by WHO will be agreed.

Earlier it was reported that the inspection of the World Health Organization in Russia as part of the recognition procedure for the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine is expected in December.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with the WHO Director General, noted the importance of including the vaccines developed in Russia against COVID-19 in the list of drugs recommended by WHO for use in an emergency.
