Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government for Military Industry Yuri Borisov said that Russia has tested a laser capable of burning drones in 5 seconds at a distance of 5 kilometers.
Speaking at the Novi Gorizonte forum, Borisov added: "We have developed and practically produced laser systems of greater power, which already allow thermal destruction of various means."
He continued, "It was tested at a distance of 5 kilometers, and within five seconds, the drone was simply burned and no longer exists."
At the forum, Borisov announced the entry into service of the S-500 complex.
Borisov added at the forum "Novi Gorizonte" that the complex of air defense systems S-500, which combines the functions of air and missile defense, has already begun to enter service.
