“The Russian side reserves the right to apply mirror measures in accordance with the provisions of the intergovernmental agreement in order to comply with the principle of parity and provide equal rights for designated airlines,” the statement says.
The agency also noted that the ban on flights to the UK for Aeroflot violates the agreement on air traffic between the two states.
On Friday, February 25, UK airlines have scheduled 70 transit flights in Russian airspace, recalled in the Federal Air Transport Agency.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the imposition of sanctions against the Aeroflot airline.
Artyom Turov, a member of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, commenting on the measures of the British government, said in an interview with RT that they "are purely Russophobic in nature."
