A 43-year-old man died Thursday morning in a hospital in Vénissieux, near Lyon, after being injured by three bullets, police and the Lyon prosecutor's office told AFP.

"The 43-year-old victim was hit by projectiles in the head, chest and leg," explained the Lyon prosecutor's office, which entrusted the flagrant investigation for "aggravated homicide" to the Zonal Directorate of Judicial Police (DZPJ).

The man, born in Lyon and "very unfavorably" known to the police, was fatally injured on the night of Wednesday to Thursday in the Minguettes district of Vénissieux.

He was then taken to hospital by his brother, warned by witnesses, said a police source.

Taken care of by the medical teams who tried to resuscitate him, he succumbed to his injuries.

For the moment, no link between this refusal to comply and the murder can be established, according to him.
